A checklist that simplifies the process
To make the process of submitting an article for freelancing to our website easier for both our writers and editors, I created a simple checklist that every freelancer had to go through before they submitted an article. This enables editors to focus on the content of the article, rather than the more technical requirements for an article to be published on our site. It also enables me to communicate directly with our freelancers, making the program much more interpersonal.
THE STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS
From our Freelancers to our Website
A student, either from our Journalistic Expression class, Journalism Club, or an English class at our school is recommended to freelance their article by myself or an advisor to our paper.
The writer receives a checklist, and if necessary works one-on-one with myself or an advisor for editing the content of the article.
After turning in their checklist and finished article, our copy editors check for errors.
I publish all finished articles onto our website, southblueprint.com
