My Girl Scout Experience

I started in Girl Scouts as a Daisy in Kindergarten. I have been an active member of Troop 50064 since. Besides perfecting my communication and marketing skills selling cookies, Girl Scouts has shaped me into the young woman I am today. Every activity, from camping to practicing web design, has focused and honed in on skills that are practical in the real world and made them fun to learn. More than that, Girl Scouts has shown me that if I can dream something, it can be made a reality. My troop and I love to travel. In third grade, we proclaimed that we wanted to go to Paris. Instead of laughing at what seemed liked a pipe dream, Girl Scouts encouraged us to travel nationally first. Above, you can see photos from our first trip together to Savannah, Georgia. Below, you can see photos from our most recent trip to St. Louis, Missouri. These trips have helped us to prepare by teaching us budgeting, fundraising, and bonding skills. This summer, we plan to finally take our trip to Europe, visiting not only Paris, but London, Florence, Rome, Pompeii, and Capri as well.

For us, Girl Scouts has literally opened the door to the world.
